Demotivation factors:
There are various factors that have demotivated the employees in Kaluyu Memorial
Hospital. It is essential to understand these factors in order to implement appropriate
motivational theory in resolving the issue.
 Micromanagement is being practiced in the hospital according to which work in a
hospital is done by there is no motivation among the employees (Hedges, 2014). And
managers will get their work done from the subordinates without any concern for the
employees.
 There is career vision among the majority of the employees (Michaelpage, n.d.). In this
hospital, employees do not have any clear career path to indicate how will be their future
that is demotivating employees.
 Here all employees have self-morale and undervalue about themselves. Employees are
not motivated and recognized for the work performed by them (Michaelpage, n.d.).
Besides this, there is no progress in the employees' career, and they are well controlled by
the managers that are a major factor which demotivates the employees.
 Employees of the hospital do not have any confidence over the current leadership and
leaders. Hospital administration suffers from poor leadership and management.
 The amount of workload given to the staffs is too high which is very difficult for them to
discharge their duty within their stipulated working hours. It warrants them to work for
extended hours and completely eliminates work life balance (Michaelpage, n.d.).
 Communication system within the organization is too poor, and there is no transparency
in the system instead autocratic leadership was practiced.
