Is restorative justice useful in lowering the rate of recidivism?
Punishment of offenders is the traditional way of administering justice in the society.
This method was seen to serve the purpose of bringing justice to the offenders through
deterrence and denunciation of the suspects and criminals. However, the process of punishing the
offenders has been criticized for the manner in which it administers justice to the society. The
process is seen as having a way with the suspects, but the victims and the community do not
benefit from the service. This is because the process is suspect centered. This was where the

program. The program was however very efficient for the adult suspects and criminals. The
provision of a form of community service to the suspects played an integral part in defining their

A study done in the city of Winnipeg revealed the effectiveness of the people who
