Introduction:
The juvenile crime is a serious issue for USA as there were 73.8 million youth under age of 18 in
the USA in the year of 2012. So the rising crime among youth becomes a grave condition for law
and order to tackle. According to the article, Juvenile the rate of crime was 60 percent in children
who were exposed to crime or violence and also being abused in their homes, schools and
communities in the previous year of 2008. There were 46 percent youth became victim of assault
and ten percent nearly injured. Courts in the US had disposed more than 1.3 million cases related
with delinquency. The investigation of the nearly 2 million reports related with maltreatment and
involving more than 3.5 million children in 2010 shows the intensity of crime rates possibilities.
In that the children who were infants and toddler comprised one third of maltreated victims and
the neglect was the most pervasive form of maltreatment because 62 percent of cases were
concerned with this form. There were 225 arrests for violent crime index offenses and it was
among the 100000 youth those were between the age group of 10 and 17. There were more
victimization report of Hispanic black youth and rate was twice than the non Hispanic white
youth. It was also found that violent crime committed by juvenile people was at peak after the
school hours. Nearly 8 percent of homicides were related with juvenile offenders in US in 2010.
The ratio of homicide was one per 3.5 million students enrolled during the year of 2010-2011.
Reports of threatening to the black and Hispanic students were more than the white students. In
2009, 22 percent arrest involving youth for crime were sorted out at state level while 67 percent
were referred to the juvenile court and remaining people were referred to the criminal courts.
