The skull symbolizes thedeath of their human nature, of their consciences.The skull of the dead parachuteman. misunderstooo as the beast,viewed as evil.Shattered ConchThe broken conch symbolizes them losing theirlaw ano order, because the conch symbolizes theirhuman need for set rules and direction.The conch is their ultimate pictureof rules and oroer, it's their mainform of attempting to form theirown civilization.Black Shards1 made the black shams look as though they werebreaking off the conch, so they were, in a way, aform of organized evil because of the origins fromthe conch.
