viiiPrefaceThe world of literature for children is constantly evolving and expanding.Children’sLiterature, Brieflywaswritten as an overview to shed light on children’s literature and its usewith young readers.The authors’ intent was forthetextbook reading experience to beeducational and informative so that more and more people who are no longer children can learnor re-learn of the wonderful world of books for younger readers. The purpose of the test bank issimilarly to help readers learn about the vast but fruitful fields of children’s books. For eachchapter of the textbook, a variety of multiple choice questions are presented. Additionally,students will have the opportunity to reveal their knowledge and learning through moreexpansive short answer and essay questions. The questions are intended to reinforce a student’slearning but they are also intended to expand that learning by presenting opportunities for astudent to think deeply about the textbook content. Accordingly, the questions represent a rangeof levels of difficulty. In the answer key, page numbers are provided to direct the teacher to thespecific page (or pages) where the answer is provided within the textbook.Furthermore,instructors should be aware that the lecture slides created to accompany each chapter have beendesigned to be complimented by the test bank. That is to say, the material upon which studentswill be tested in the test bank questions is largely covered in the material included in the lectureslides. Those students who have had the opportunity to attend a lecture in which the lectureslides have been used will have the advantage of exposure to specific material upon which theywill then be tested.
