Muscular Endurance | The ability to use the voluntary muscles many times without getting tired. |

Tests for the Components of health related fitness | To test an individuals, cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition. |
Cooper's 12 minute run test | This tests cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance in a participants legs. Participants run around a course for 12 minutes. They then measure the distance covered and calculate their V02 max. |
Hand grip test | This tests muscular strength in the hand. Take a hand grip dynamometer and squeeze as tightly as possible. |
Sit and reach test | This measure the flexibility of the hamstrings. Either use a standard sit and reach box or sit down with legs straight and feet against a bench set on its side. Measure how far beyond your toes you can reach. Somebody who cannot reach their toes scores a minus total. |
Skin fold test | This tests the body composition of an individual. Using a skin fold calliper, and a tape measure, fold the skin of an area of the body using the calliper and measure it. |
Components of skill-related fitness | The six components of skill related fitness are, agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time and speed. |
Agility | The ability to change the position of the body quickly and to control the movement of the whole body. |
Balance | The ability to retain the body's centre of gravity. |
Co-ordination | The ability to use 2 or more parts of the body simultaneously |
Power | The ability to use strength and speed. Doing strength actions quickly. |
Reaction Time | The ability to recognise the time between the presentation of the stimulus and the onset of a movement. |
Speed | The ability to cover a certain distance in a certain amount of time. |
Illinois Shuttle Run | The illinois shuttle run tests the agility of an individual as it involves them running through several cones after a 10 metre sprint. |
Standing Stork | The standing stork tests the balance of an individual as it involves them to stand on one leg with the other leg leaning on the knee. The require to keep their eyes closed. |
Three Ball Juggle | This tests the coordination of an individual. They require to juggle three balls as long as possible. |
The Ruler Drop Test | The ruler drop test is a way of testing somebody's reaction time as someone holds a ruler above the other persons hand and the person has to catch the ruler when dropped. |
30 Metre Sprint | The 30 metre sprint tests the speed of an individual. It requires them to record the time they achieve in a 30 metre sprint. |
Vertical High Jump | This tests the power of an individual as it requires them to stand next to a wall and jump as high as possible and touch the wall as high as they can. The height of they're jump will be recorded. |
