Title: “The Three Little Pigs”
Grade Level &Classroom Demographics:
The Head Start classroom consists of 17 students. Of the students, the classroom consists
of one ELL student of Mexican/Hispanic culture, 2 Caucasian students, and 14 African-
Americans. One of the African-Americans has an IEP for speech problems and another African-
American has traits of Autism, but he has not been diagnosed due to his age. The classroom
consists of 10 boys and 7 girls. There are 1 gifted student, 2 twice exceptional learners, 4 above
average learners, and 10 average students.
Lesson Objectives:
1. The students will be able to retell a story and discuss the main idea by
listening to a story and/or answering open-ended questions (with 80 %
accuracy).
2. The students will identify rhyming words found in a story (with 80%
accuracy).
3. The students will learn to write letters found in common nouns and say the
beginning sounds of the first letter in that word (with 80% accuracy).

4. The students will create drawings to provide details from a story (with 80%
accuracy).
5. The students will use objects/colorful pictures found in the story to allow them
to make real-life connections (with 80% accuracy).
