Immigration affects both the parents and the children. Several effects of immigration includestress resulting from the need to move out from their familiar setting and live a whole new socialsetting, culture, place and language. In this matter, a lot of immigrant children struggles their way into their journey to United States. This is basically due to these people’s lack of capacity to re-establish themselves in the newenvironment. They tend to feel the support they get from their new home is not as intense as thesupport they had from their relatives and friends. Stress among adolescent immigrants is worsethan those amongst young folks. This is brought by the cultural rejection they need to overcometo be able to jive with the new setting. Unlike children, adolescent immigrants are clever andsmart enough to set a balance between family and adaptation.McCarthy (2011) claimed that connection and acceptance from the society are significant factorsof the development of an adolescent. Those who failed to harmonize meaningfully to theirfriends, family and community are more vulnerable to suicide, abuse, drop-out, healthcomplication and anti-life activities.Review or LiteraturePeople who immigrate to the US have different behavior and personality. These people livedculture different from others. Some of them lack quality education. They might be literate but theeducation level that some of these immigrants tend to be little (McDonnell & Hill, 1993).Reviews assume that most immigrant children are able to adapt to the new setting orenvironment (Fuligni, 1997). However, these adolescent immigrants are perceived to have a hardtime moving out from low self-efficacy. These individuals even isolate themselves from a largergroup.
