I will make sure the younginfants are comfortable. I will help calm them when they'refeeling tired.Mobile infants begin to adopt their own strategies for copingwith emotions. I will provide materials such as mirrors so theycan begin to build a sense of self. I will observe as mobile infantsbegin to explore using their senses. I will be sure to interact withmobile infants as they explore their environment.Toddlers grow a sense of self and feelings of independencedevelop at the same time. I will help toddlers express theiremotions appropriately through words or gestures. I will be sureeach toddler feels included in all activities. I will providedifferent cultural materials in the classroom so toddlers can feelmore comfortable seeing things from home.SocialYoung infants love to be held by caregivers gently. I will providea non-biased environment. I will continue to provide materialsthat celebrate diversity in cultural groups, ages, genders, andvaried family structures. I will promote positive socialinteractions that help young infants develop social competenceand need to thrive in the world.
