This week, we focused ''on key couples, marriage, and family counseling theories: Structural,
Strategic, and Milan systemic theory" (Stauffer et al., 2021). I watched videos and read scholarly
articles to understand better how these approaches address family sttuctures, strategic
interventions, and systemic thinking in effective counseling. This understanding enlightened us
on the crucial role of family structures in counseling.

structure and boundaries (Parmanand & Benoit, 2021). This theory aligns with m y counseling
style, highlighting how family organization influences individual behavior. I understand the
importance of navigating family hierarchies objectively while addressing, these complexities.
Strategic Theory” Strategic Theory; as explored in the video "Strategic Couples Therapy"
(Psychotherapy.net, n.d.) and the work of Stauffer et al. (2021), involves developing specific
strategies to resolve family or couple issues. This practical, solution-oriented approach empowers
us to tackle challenges head-on, although it does require flexibility and creativity7 in tailoring
strategies to individual situations.
