8-2. Short Paper: Future Directions of Health PsychologyThe comprehensive intervention model is a medical field trend affecting healthpsychology (Staton & Taylor, 2021).Some comprehensive intervention models could includehospice, pain management programs and rehab for coronary heart disease. In hospice, palliativemanagement and psychotherapeutic technologies are created for patients at the end-of-life stagein their life. In many pain management programs, all treatment options are brought together todevelop regimens based on the patients as individuals. The rehabilitation for patients withcoronary heart disease could either be done in a coordinated residential or an outpatient program, which aid in a multitude of health habits. Although comprehensive intervention models areconsidered to be beneficial, they could also end up being financially hindering. Forcomprehensive intervention models to still be utilized in the definition of high-quality healthcare, attention needs to be given to the programs financially as well as keeping in mind of howeffective the treatments are for patients.Based on what I have personally learned during this course, I have reason to believe thatcomprehensive intervention models could be appropriate as treatments for a multitude ofillnesses. That is if they could keep the financial side of these treatments at a low. Placing theseprograms in a more affordable range for individuals could become very beneficial to all patients. The higher financial costs of comprehensive intervention models have created a push effect inhealth psychology, which forces research on alternative ways for individuals to stay away fromthe health system altogether. Evidence-based medications have proven to become morebeneficial in the reduction of needs for health care systems by individuals. We have learned howthe body and mind are connected during this course, so by reducing financial costs for theinterventions would aid in reducing stress for patients. Reducing the patient's stress and teachingthem ways to cope could aid their overall health. Reducing the rate of mental illnesses would aidin reducing the need to utilize health care services. Searching for better cost-effective strategiesin order to keep these programs afloat could aid individuals to reduce their need for additionalhealthcare services.REFERENCES:Staton, A. L. & Taylor, S.
