Dr. Ian Smith, Ph.D, a professional clinical psychologist was interviewed on the 8th of August,
2007. He was asked questions on his background, career path, and qualities required for a
successful trainee. They also discussed the Cognitive-therapy, Rational-emotive behavior
therapy (REBT) which is Dr.Smith’s concentration in his thesis. While Cognitive-therapy history
and approach was supported by an article in journal by Albert Ellis (1913-2007), also known as
the originator of the therapy and the definition. The interview with Dr. Ian Smith, Ph.D gave a
personal insight helping in a clear understanding of the role and life of a clinical psychologist.
