Conference calls and video conferences are two types of formats used when
conducting a business over long distances.
Conference calls
The conference calls defeat the purpose of personal relations when they only
hearing a coworker’s voice. Remarks or humorous comments can insult those
involved because they cannot see a caller's facial expression. When connecting
additional locations the call the quality of the call is weaken. Sometime, two or
more people start talking at the same time, which will make their opinions not
heard.
Conference calls are inclined to be the cheapest. Essentially, the expenditure
required is when selecting conference calls would be the cost of the telephone
equipment and the rate of the long distance calls. Most companies usually own
telephones with speakerphone included. If necessary to purchase a telephone,
speakerphone can easily be purchase for a reasonable amount.

Video conferencing offers a visual connection with the other attendees.
When using video conferencing callers are able to view each other on a TV screen
and hear each other through the speaker system. Associates are able to hear each
other's voices, put a voice to a face, and understand each other's joke and
comments.
The price may be the biggest drawback for some people, though there are very
cheap options if you do not require the more advanced features. Usually, a business
that can make good use of the more advanced features often finds that the money
