ANALYZING MESSAGES:CONTENT, MEDIA, AND TECHNOLOGY 2
Analyzing Messages
Communicating in the workplace coupled with advances in technology provides a vast
array of communication outlets. Various forms include formal writing, cell phones, pagers, e-
mail, snail mail, and a culmination of social media networks. As individuals and businesses
become saturated with these various communication options proper writing styles, techniques,
and the portrayal of message intent can mislead the receiver on the contents meaning. Along with
these advances the information age leads to the advent of new organizations.
Businesses of the 21st century include remote teams, virtual teams, and networks. As the
network becomes the intangible representation of how individuals work with one another in
achieving goals, he or she must hone his or her interpersonal communication and team skills
within this organizational structure (Roebuck, 2006, p. xvi). As texting and social media
networks invade homes and businesses across the globe more emphasis extends into the arena of
formal writing that lacks in 80% of businesses (Roebuck, 2006, p. xiii). In understanding the
process of correctly creating a proper business message the use of the communication model
explores three messages and the process involved.
Message One
Hello team,
The submission of the paper is complete and is essentially error free concerning grammatical
errors. I was left with very limited time to check originality and structure as I was scrambling to
complete the paper at the last minute. This paper is a team assignment and it reflects on all of our
grades so hopefully next time all papers will be submitted with ample time to complete.
Thanks everyone.
