Together with itssubsidiaries, the company plans, constructs, and commercializes personal computers, mobilecommunication devices and portable digital music and video players. As well, the company alsosells several associated software, services, peripherals and networking solutions. Some of, it’swell known hardware products are the Macintosh computers, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad.In present, the company operate with 300 retail stores in ten countries and an online storethrough which it sells its hardware and software products (Apple Inc., 2010).The thesis statement of this research report is that, what kind of management approachesare used by Apple Inc. to manage the different functions such as planning, organizing andcontrolling, so that company can make strategic planning and effective decision making process.Management Approaches of AppleThe approaches of managing people in the firm uses by Tim Cook are quite differentfrom the approaches used by Steve Job. Steve Job was a great entrepreneur, who had followhub-and-wheel managementapproach to organize a multinationalcorporation;on the other hand,TimCook is more cooperative than Steve Jobandfollowsthe management theory of Taylor’sscientific approachand theory ofthe human relations approach (Finkelstein, 2013).Althoughthe management approach of Steve cannot be questioned but he was demandingand aggressive andhandledall the planning and decision making processesthroughadecentralized structure, as his approaches was based on theory of Fayol, as per that managerplans,organizes, commands,co-ordinates andcontrols all the activities and processes(Adetule,2011).
