Systems such as the organizational structure and hierarchy strongly influence andconstrain both what individuals do and how they do. In addition, individual behavior isinfluenced by various types of resources provided by the organization such as advice anddirections from leaders, physical support in terms of facilities and technology. The importantorganizational factors affecting human behavior are explained below:1.Physical facilities–The physicalfacilitiessuch as lighting, ventilation, air-conditioning,painting on walls, space provided for each employee, equipment, etc. have their influence onemployee behavior and performance.2.Organization structure and design–Human behavior is influenced by the way in whichthe different groups and departments in the organization are set up and the way in which thereporting relationships and lines of communication are established among different positionsin the organization. the behavior and performance of an individual is influenced by wherethat person fits into the overall structure and design of the organization.3.Leadership–The role of leadership and supervision is to provide direction, assistance,adviceand coaching to individual members. The leader behavior is, therefore, a potentialsource of influence on an individual.4.Rewards system-Organizations establish reward systems to compensate their employees.The behavior and performance of an individual is influenced by the reward system whichmay include both financial and non financial rewards.
