Skill Group 4Clinic Software and RecordsThe clinic that I workatis part of a company called VGA Animal Hospitals. VGA usestheir own digital software for keeping and managing medical records. This software is calledWoofware VGA. This software encapsulates all aspects of keeping medical records, refillingand printing medication labels, sending out lab requisitions and receiving the results, amongmany other functions.To create medical records in the system for a patient, they must first be added to thesystem. By adding a new patient, it creates a file and "folder" of sorts where all the information,records, reminders, and notes for mat patient will be saved. Once an account is made for thepatient, scheduling appointments merely consists of selecting a day and time for the patient tocome in. The length of the visit can be selected from a ±op-down when scheduling, and oncescheduled, the system will notify rhe client by text or email that their appointment has beenbooked.Concerning filing, whenever an exam is put in by a doctor, they are prompted to put inthe information they gatheredandthe system then filesitinto rhe SOAP format, and when theyhave finalized the record, it is released as a printable and shareable document. Similarly, whentechnicians input information for tech appointments, they enter the information trfien finalized,and any information entered is released as a shareable document. These records can be accessedat any time and printed if needed or sent via email to other clinics.Therecords are saved in theserver located in the doud, where all the information is stored. Additionally, in some cases,there is a cloud network where clinics who upload to this network can share the patient's recordsautomatically, and it can be viewed by another clinic within the company at any time.
