Zappos is an online retailer of shoes that was created in 1999. The current CEO of
Zappos is Tony Hsieh. Tony joined Zappos in 1999 after selling a company he co-founded for
$265 million. He first joined as an advisor and investor, but he soon became CEO (Zappos,
n.d.). Tony has helped the company rise to sales of $1 billion and also through the sale of the
company to Amazon for $1.2 billion. He has turned the company around and helped it become
very successful with many loyal customers. In addition to helping the company expand, Tony
has landed Zappos on Forbes magazine of best companies to work for (Zappos, n.d.).
The culture of Zappos consists of ten values. Those items are as follows:
1. Deliver WOW Through Service
2. Embrace and Drive Change
3. Create Fun and A Little Weirdness
4. Be Adventurous, Creative, and Open-Minded
5. Pursue Growth and Learning
6. Build Open and Honest Relationships With Communication
7. Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit
8. Do More With Less
9. Be Passionate and Determined
10.Be Humble
