BUS 610 Week 5 DQ 1 Nonverbal Feedback Describe how nonverbal feedback conveys powerful messages. Provide an example where nonverbal feedback was used and describe the end result? Our nonverbal communication is just as powerful as our verbal communication. In some instances nonverbal communication can be more powerful than verbal communication. The forms of nonverbal communication include kinesic cues, appearance and dress, artifacts, touch, space, and paralanguage (Baack, 2012). There are times when we may say something but our body communicates something else. Our facial expressions, our eye movements including eye contact, the posture of our bodies and also our gestures convey a lot more than we think. Both verbal and nonverbal communication can very easily be misunderstood by other people also. An example nonverbal feedback being used and misunderstood would be my everyday life. I am a very quiet and shy person and I mainly keep to myself. I also don’t smile a lot. Because of these things people who don’t know me have a hard time reading me. Most of them think that because I don’t smile that I'm mean and because 1 don’t talk a lot that I am stuck-up. I, and the people who know me, know that neither of these things is true. Because of these things I have been trying to be more talkative and smile more over the last few years. | — StudyXY Downloaded from StudyXY.com ® + StudyXY Sd Ye. o> \ | iF ’ pr E \ 3 S Stu dy Anything This ContentHas been Posted On StudyXY.com as supplementary learning material.
