Skin, glands, hair, nails
What are the three layers of the skin from superficial to internal?
Epidermis, dermis, hypodermis
What is the Epidermis layer?
Made of epithelial tissues; does not have blood vessels, regenerates once a month
What is the Dermal/cutaneous layer?
Made of connective tissue, hair follicles, sebum glands, capillaries, blood vessels
What is the Hypodermis/subcutaneous layer?
Areolar and adipose tissues, highly vascular, above the muscle layer
What do sebaceous glands do?
Secrete sebum to keep hair and skin flexible and water resistant
